One year ago today, on July 8, 2013, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Today, I am Healthy, Happy, a bit emotional…and I don’t need to wear a bra. Ever again. get-attachment

I am packing up for my second leg of my summer tour with the Bacon Brothers which takes me back to PA (Sellersville Theater on 7/11) and then on to New York (City Winery on 7/14 and 7/15).  I can’t even begin to explain how incredibly satisfying it is to share the songs I’ve written over the last year with an audience.  After the show, I am honored to meet so many survivors and care givers who were touched by my music.  As an artist, I am always encouraged and propelled by the notion that music heals, unites and speaks to us when words fail.  I love kicking back and watching the Bacon Brothers when my set is over.  I’m watching my friends pour out their hearts, share their stories, and bring joy to so many people.  We’ve worked together for 16 years now, and I am so grateful and honored to be able to share the road with them.

get-attachment-2On the home front, Jette and Perry start Kindergarten this August and I will be home in time to take them to their first day of school.  They are enlightening, inspiring, hilarious, challenging, and heart warming.   Jette’s songwriting is mind blowing, and she shuns the idea that songs should be between 3 and 4 minutes.  Her masterpieces are about 10-15 minutes in length and do NOT interrupt her.  Perry is the first to grab the microphone at kid’s karaoke, and her favorite song to sing is “Everything is Awesome!”

Chip built us a beautiful studio (Man Cave?) and he’s been hiding away writing songs and producing tracks.  We did all of the drums for my new record at our own Underland Studio.

It’s been a hot and humid summer in Los Angeles ~ feels like a sauna.  I projected my own discomfort on my cat and gave him a “lion’s cut” today to get rid of the fleas and make him feel cooler.  I just spent an hour trying to take his picture, but I think he’s traumatized and won’t come out from under the bed.

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July and enjoy the rest of summer.  Over the next three months, I will be gearing up for the release of “CURVE” on October 7th.  You can pre-order the cd by clicking here.  All the pre-orders really help with momentum for an indie-artist, so thank you in advance if you are so inclined to show your early support.   I will post a stream for some of the tracks soon, so stay tuned!

Love,

pnut

Greetings Pnut Gallery! I’ve had a whirlwind couple of months. After my unplanned hiatus, the shows at Genghis were a wonderful way to get back into the music scene – low key, but lots of fun. Thank you to the amazing audiences who remind me why I do what I do.

Dave Darling and I have been working hard in the studio to finish the upcoming CD “Curve” and we had a fantastic day at Dog House Studio with some of my Angels.

It’s still not too late for YOU to get involved in the production of “Curve,” either by being an Angel or pre-ordering the cd. Artwork will be turned in at the end of May so please check out the January 2014 post “Calling All Angels” and see if there is a package that suits your fancy. As always, thank so much for your support and encouragement. Lots of sneak peeks into the new record coming SOON, as well as an announcement of summer tour dates including shows with my favorite brothers (besides my own): THE BACON BROS., so check back! XO pnut

Connor Pasich, after doing a fantastic “nasty” guitar solo on my new song “Heels over Head” for the upcoming CD. Great coaching by Producer Dave Darling.

***IMPORTANT UPDATE***You will hear more about this later but Chip’s Dad (my Father-in-Love) is in hospice. We are so grateful to have this sacred time to be with him and usher him as peacefully as possible through this transition. Unfortunately I have to cancel Saturday’s show but we have rescheduled it for Saturday, April 26. You will get a message from the ticket company about either just moving your ticket to that date, or getting a refund. We’ve also added a second show that night so that there will be room for you to bring your friends or purchase tickets if you didn’t get a chance to the first time. 🙂 You’ll have a choice of an early or late show. They are setting it up and you will hear from TicketWeb shortly if you already purchased tickets.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience and change of plans, but I’m sure you understand ~ my family comes first. Chip and I were on tour for our troops, on a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific when Joan passed (Chip’s Mom), and I will never forget the feeling of not being able to be with her or attend the funeral. And I still feel the twinge of my tour being responsible for Chip not being at his Mother’s bedside. This time it’s my honor and the universe’s gift to us both to be able to be present.

Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. I will sing for you SOON.
XO
